I'll be there...

Remember that girl behind the counter with the long dark hair, the colorful leotard and low-slung jeans? That was me. And there's no way I'm going to miss this folk fest!

Can't wait to see you all again.

The Herring was my home for four beautiful years. And it means more to me than you can imagine. I drew the cover of one of the Folk and Music albums. I learned to play the piano on the beat-up upright. And everything I learned about music in my Herring years helped me in later life when I wrote jingles for companies like McDonald's.
Oh, and I'm coming along with another member of the crew. Russ Mason and I met on the back steps of the Herring back in 1971. We quietly became an item, stayed in touch through 1975, then went our separate ways, married other people, each had kids and didn't have any contact for 27 years.

Nine years ago, we got back in touch. And 30 years from the day we met, we took a little trip to Champaign, and he asked me to marry him...on the Herring's back steps. <!...break...>

I live in NY. He lives in Nashville and married now for four years, we commute back and forth. So it should be no big deal to find ourselves in Champaign in April.

It will be great to see all your faces!
